Dr. Boruah is currently an Associate Professor at the Institute for Materials Discovery, University College London (UCL), UK. He completed his B.Sc. in Physics from Cotton College, Assam, India (2011), followed by an M.Sc. in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati (2013). He earned his M.S. (Engineering) and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, in 2018. Prior to joining UCL in 2022, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Cambridge.
Dr. Boruah’s research focuses on the development of advanced battery electrodes and micro-batteries, contributing to next-generation energy storage solutions for Internet of Things (IoT) devices and on-chip-powered systems.

He brings a strong track record of successfully managing and governing complex transformation initiatives, consistently delivering strategic programs that align technology investments with business outcomes.
Throughout his career, Saikat has demonstrated deep expertise in leading end-to-end digital journeys, enabling organizations to modernize their technology landscape, optimize operations, and accelerate innovation. His leadership spans program governance, stakeholder alignment, cloud adoption, and enterprise-scale transformation execution.
Prior to joining Cambridge Intellects Ltd., Saikat held key roles at globally recognized organizations including Siemens Digital Industries Software, ABB, Schneider Electric Software, AVEVA Solutions, and Tata Consultancy Services. His diverse industry experience and strategic mindset enable us to drive impactful transformation across IoT, MOM, manufacturing and engineering.
